Cranbourne Gardens

Hi everyone,

To learn about the aboriginals we went to Cranbourne Gardens. We were finding out how things were made and many more.

Steve, our guide firstly gave us a tour; we got to hear water through a trunk of a tree; we learnt how things were made. For example: the boomerang. We leant which one returned and which one doesn’t. We also got to paint ocher on ourselves. Ocher is a type of rock. If you add it with water it turns all paint. The aboriginal people painted it on themselves. I don’t know why though.

We got to see many man made structures. Like these massive slopes made of red sand. Some of the mums came. My mum come and she thought it looked like water had made them. We also learnt about what the aboriginal people ate. They ate types of roots and animals. We also leant how the aboriginal people cooked. Rubbing sticks together but in a special way. The strait stickers were better than the wonky sticks. We leant hoe they cleaned and used possum skins for many different situations.

The best part is there were bandicoots. We saw a tone of them. They were actually quite tame. They went up to someone not in our school though. There was also playgrounds.

I really enjoyed it. I recommend you go there. 5 stars!

What do you know about the Aboriginal people?

Your sincerely,

Isla.

Nursing Home

Hi,

It’s Isla again.

I’m going to be talking about what happened in the nursing home.

On the 24th of March, we saw many elders. We were trying to make relationships with them

Therefore, it was hard to communicate with them because they either had hearing problems or half blind and many more. We got to share what was unique about us.

One of mine is that I’ve had a bunny since I was born. That is probably 9-10 years ago from 2021!

They were all very nice. One of them liked my bunny.

Here are some pictures of them and me.

All About Avatars!

Hi,

My name is Isla and I’m going to talk about avatars today.

An avatar could be a particular person. It represents someone.

It is important not to show private information about your body and face so that’s one reason. It is also important because people will not be able to recognise your real face so they do not know much about your personal and private information. It is also good fun to make yourself be a bit different from what you really are, but its more about privacy.

An avatar is mostly about what a person partly looks like but a bit more updated.

Here is my avatar:

I gave myself brown hair because my family has it. I gave myself a yellow headband because I like to wear it to school. I gave myself bunny teeth because I like bunnies. I gave myself brown eyes because my mum made me have them. A bit of my family have blue and green eyes.

That’s all I’ve got to say.

What would you do for your avatar?

Your sincerely,

Isla.
